[The Coits] are an American hardcore punk band formed in Washington, D.C. in 2003. They are widely regarded as being integral to the revival of hardcore punk, though the band's members objected to "hardcore" being the sole term used to describe their music.
The Coits were based in and around Georgetown University. They played their first show at the Notasquat on October 12, 2003.
